I want you to imagine a cow. Out in the Midwest, they have big storms. When those storms come, the cows do something very natural – they run away from the storm. But here’s the problem: They end up running with the storm, making it longer & more miserable.

But then there are these buffalo – they do something unique. When a storm comes, they turn and run towards the storm. It’s really hard for a little while, but the storm is over quickly because they go right through it.

We have the same choice when faced with a problem – we can run away from it and hope it goes away. If we do that, we only make our life harder. But if we turn and face it head on – if we move towards the storm – we can overcome those problems.

Here’s an example: If you have a hard homework project that you REALLY don’t want to do and you wait & wait & wait – it only gets harder & more stressful. But if you just buckle down & do it right away, it’s miserable for a short time and then it’s done!

The next time you face a problem, remember that you have the choice: Will I run away from the storm like the cow or run TOWARDS the storm like the buffalo?
